Maybe they didn't have to do anything, I don't know. I keep seeing posts that people were/are able to use Nero 6 with Vista, yet none of those posts say how they were able to get it to work (posts refered to 32 and 64 bit versions of Vista). I repeated all the steps I tried before upgrading to the newer version without any luck. Went to Nero's website and downloaded updates and installed them. So I go straight into the Ahead folder and try to run Nero. The versions of Nero mentioned to be working under Vista include the version I was working with. I searched online and found several forum posts at various websites of users stating that Nero works perfectly fine with the exception of SmartStart. Nero will start for a split second, then it will close and Vista will say that Nero Burning ROM is not compatible with this version of Windows. Nero (v6.6.0.19) installed without any problems on Vista Home Premium 64.
